The small print, in large print
Terms of business
How working with Milsch works, in plain English. If anything here is unclear, ring Daniel and ask; that’s what he’s for.
Prices and quotes
Prices are on the prices page. The price is agreed before the work starts. If a job turns out bigger than it looked, Daniel stops and asks before going on. A written quote, when you’ve had one, is good for 30 days.
A visit costs £65 and includes the first hour on site. After that, time is charged at £55 an hour, by the half hour. Remote help is £15 a quarter hour. Travel within 20 miles is included; beyond that it is £0.45 a mile each way, and Daniel will tell you before he sets off.
Prices shown are what you pay. Daniel is not VAT registered.
Kit
Kit is charged at what Daniel pays for it plus a small handling charge, and you're welcome to buy it yourself if you'd rather. Kit carries its maker’s warranty, and Daniel will deal with the maker for you if something fails in the first year. It stays Milsch’s until it has been paid for.
If something can’t be fixed
If something can't be fixed, you don't pay for the fixing, only for the visit.
Your data and your devices
- Before working on a computer, Daniel will ask what matters most on it and, where he can, make sure there is a backup first.
- He looks only at what he needs to fix the problem, and never copies anything except to back it up or move it across for you.
- Any copy he makes during a job is deleted when the job is done and you’ve confirmed everything arrived.
- Passwords you share for a job are used for that job only. He’ll ask you to change them afterwards if you’d like.
Older equipment fails. If a drive or a machine gives up during a repair because it was already failing, that’s bad luck rather than a fault in the work, which is why the backup comes first.
Paying
Invoices by email, paid by bank transfer within 14 days. No card fees, no surprises.
Monthly support plans are invoiced at the start of each month. No contracts. Monthly plans run month to month and stop whenever you say.
Changing or cancelling a visit
Plans change on farms; Daniel knows. Let him know as soon as you can and there’s no charge. If he arrives for a booked visit and can’t get in or nobody is there, the visit price applies.
CCTV and the law
If cameras Daniel installs record people beyond your own property, or you are recording for a business, you have responsibilities under data protection law. He’ll give you a plain-English note and the signs you need, and he’ll point cameras away from places they shouldn’t see. The note is practical help, not legal advice.
What Milsch is responsible for
Daniel does the work with reasonable care and skill, and puts right anything he got wrong at no charge. Milsch isn’t responsible for loss of data that wasn’t backed up, for faults in third-party services such as your broadband provider, Starlink or a software maker, or for losses that couldn’t reasonably have been foreseen. Milsch carries public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
None of this affects your rights under consumer law.
If you’re not happy
Tell Daniel first, on 07308 437786 by phone, text or WhatsApp. He’ll answer within two working days and do his best to put it right.
